Guelaguetza Season: - First Guelaguetza: July-16 to July 21, 2010 - Second Guelaguetza: July-23 to July 28, 2010
We invite you along to be a part of this vibrant pageantry that will offer you a glimpse into a well-preserved tradition celebrated by the indigenous communities of Oaxaca Mexico.

Your Itinerary:
Day 1, Friday, July 16/23: Arrive any time to Oaxaca airport or bus station,we´ll take you to the Hotel selected . Enjoy the remainder of your day and evening in Oaxaca City. Today you´ll have your first walking city tour in Oaxaca Historic Center. This tour include the historic and architecturally stunning buildings, markets, and churches located in the capital city of the state of Oaxaca.

Day 2, Saturday, July 17/24: Once again enjoy breakfast at the hotel before visiting some of the riches of the Oaxaca. No trip to Oaxaca would be complete without a visit to Monte Alban. Once of Mexico’s most important archaeological ruins, Monte Alban is located just outside the city of Oaxaca with a gorgeous backdrop of the Oaxaca mountains. In the afternoon you´ll admire by your own the parade of the delegations participants of the Guelaguetza celebration,Return to the hotel for the night.

Day 3, Sunday, July 18/25: Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. you’ll tour Teotitlan, where you will get a glimpse into local artisans who are known for their intricate weaving and designs, drop by Tule, a city on the outskirts of Oaxaca City, where you will see the largest known Montezuma cypress, well over 2000 years old, and also tour Mitla, an important archaeological site in Oaxacan history. return to Hotel Later night, see the presentation of the show honoring the legend of Donaji princess, the last reigning princess in the history of Oaxaca. The light and sound show will showcase the colorful past and the honoring of the history of Oaxaca of which the Oaxacans are proud to present. Return to the hotel for the night for your own.

Day 4, Monday, July 19/26: Today is the biggest and most important celebration of the entire year in Oaxaca. Enjoy an early morning breakfast as we will depart around 8AM for the Guelaguetza show. Since Guelaguetza means “Celebration of Giving” the many communities of Oaxaca come together to celebrate the giving of labor, materials, animals, food, among other things, in this special ceremony. Dancers and musicians from throughout the state come together to perform song and dance. These performers have been preparing all year long for this special ceremony. The presentation lasts throughout the morning and early afternoon. Return for your own to the hotel for the rest of the day.

Day 5, Tuesday, July 20/27: Breakfast, free day. Day 6, Wednesday, July 21/28: After Breakfast we´ll take you back to the airport of Oaxaca. End of services.
